Chardonnay Wines
Chardonnay wines are the most popular in the world. Their tough little skins and sunny personalities help them not just survive, but thrive, in nearly every major wine region in the world. Part of her stunning success is her flexibility, and ability to adapt to the different weather conditions of each region in which she is planted. Further, like a little chameleon, she reflects back what is best about any environment in which she finds herself.
At home in France, Chardonnay is found in white Burgundy and Chablis and Champagne. In California, Chardonnay picks up rich oak characteristics, and is often said to have buttery overtones. Italian Chardonnays, on the other hand, are noticeably drier, and are said to be "more refined" and less oaky than California Chardonnays. Australian Chardonnays, on the other hand, are rich with vanilla, melon, grapefruit and peach overtones.
Whichever appellation's Chardonnay you prefer most, chances are you'll find it a perfect pairing with any number of foods. Wonderful with any dish with a cream base and always a reliable partner with fish, poultry and pork, Chardonnays are every dinner hostess's best friend. Chardonnays are also delightful to simply sip on their own.
At The Organic Wine Company, we are proud to feature an impressive variety of Chardonnays made from organic grapes grown all over the world. Whether you prefer your Chardonnay's accent to be French, Australian or Californian, you can find a nice selection on the shelves of our little wine shop.
