To complement the experience we added one of our favorites, the Mas de Janiny Syrah 2007, made by our good friends from the Julien family as well as a simple but thoroughly enjoyable Côtes du Ventoux, a blend from the Rhône area, sure to be a crowd pleaser!

French Bouquet -- 2006 Viognier, Domaine de Caillan This is an elegant version of this fairly rare and sought after grape varietal. Generally described with hints of apricot, white peach and tropical fruit flavors this wine will demonstrate eloquently to you that there is life beyond Chardonnay and Sauvignon! Serve this Viognier with appetizers, seafood, chicken, turkey or pasta. 2007 Coteaux du Languedoc, Château Véronique. This versatile red wine made of Syrah, Grenache and Carignane grapes has a medium body, an intense color and a great charm beyond its hints of blackberries and pepper. Here is what Larry Walker, wine writer for SF Chronicle has to say about it: "A rich wine with good structure and balance. The center is deep and intense, with layers of flavor echoing on the palate. Finish is long and satisfying. Highly recommended!" It goes well with chicken, turkey and with soft cheeses. "Coteau" in French means small hill, often ideally suited for planting vines.
